Rubber B on a Deep Sea - really enjoying this strap! It gives the watch a somewhat more “tool“ and austere look and it’s so light and comfortable. Also a perfect fit. And I love how the original clasp is installed on it. Highly recommended!
I have considered doing that myself and the only thing that has stopped me is the assumption that the lighter rubber strap would make it feel even more top heavy. Is my assumption wrong?! Is it OK in practice?
I'm not tool savvy, and very reluctant to risk scratching my watches by trying to do things like this myself. So I went to an authorized dealer in NYC a few weeks back and had them do it. Best $300 I've spent in a while! It fits like a glove (they make the straps for specific references) and is oh so comfortable. The rubber doesn't make the watch feel heavy at all. To the contrary. Go try one!
I just meant that by switching the relatively heavy metal bracelet for a lighter rubber strap I thought it may make the watch feel top heavy because the weight of the watch head would no longer be balanced by the weight of the bracelet. If that's not the case then so much the better!
Merci Nico. They did a great job designing these straps. Highly recommended. They make straps for several brands and models (I have no affiliation)! Even have faux alligator you can swim with!
You know how much I like this James Cameron. Now, for me, the bracelet is still the way to go, to " cancel " a bit the fat lugs. One day I will get one! It is among the three or four modern Rolex I still consider...
I know you dig this one! The rubber strap makes the watch more versatile. Rubber in the summer and bracelet in the winter. Variety, they say, is the spice of life!
