Rolex

a few days ago a SD 1665 with case number 6153792 has been stolen to a close friend of mine in Naples ( Italy ) while in holiday.
the watch has been snatched from his wrist while walking in a street but from the assault he has received only small injuries.
please keep your eyes on it , thanks !

We are hearing, it seems, more and more incidents where watches are being stolen. It pays to be hyper-vigilant. But even then, these thieves are of the lowest order.

Hope that your friend is fine. As some members have mentioned, please do ask your friend to report it to RSC, so if the watch is sent to RSC for verification/ service, the watch can be retrieved. Also, try to post on other forums so that the others are aware that the watch is a stolen one. Hope that your friend will find it soon.

I have always advised friends to wear a long sleeve shirt or a jacket, if they happen to have an expensive vintage-watch on their wrist.  More so, if they are holidaying in a foreign land.

Thank God, he still has his life.

Terribly sorry to hear this sad news and we will all keep an eye out for the watch.  I am glad to hear that your friend escaped with only minor scuffs.  I agree with others that hopefully we can all continue to enjoy this wonderful hobby w/o having to worry about wearing our wonderful watches around town.  The joy of the hobby is in wearing the watches w/o concern, not having to move them around town in a Brinks truck!!
