We don’t discuss this watch very often.. I am wondering why not? . A very classic layout with a nice detail. The date change is absolutely instant. When setting the date there are no pushers it the setting is with a small lever under the lug.
What are your thoughts on the QP?

yes, its something that bothers me a bit as well. I think it has to do with the dial design bc on the previous version it looked harmonius but the geometry hasnt changed.
My take on the latest QP
I always loved the previous version but this one somehow looked odd with the day and month windows being so close to the center due to the fact that the same calibre 1300 from the previous version was used. FP should have made a revision and moved those windows up. That said, I prefer the silver dial version due to the matching windows background and as always I also prefer the platinum 40 mm case.

even if I like the new dial design, I think this first one is more harmoneus. I dont think the day, month look too close to the centre here.
To me, the steel frame is more original but the design of the leap year indicator is a bit disturbing to the harmony. However, the new design made the watch a lot more popular where the old one was a hard sell it is hardly the situation with the new one.
I had the pleasure of handling one from a close friend a few days ago . Like you said its not a watch that gets a lot of attention.
My friend got a serious and amazing collection of FPJs and for some reason this watch got my attention each time i looked in the box .

I am a fan too, my friend. I think it is perhaps less spectacular than a Resonance or Optimum - could that be the reason?
In the end its a classic complication, done well with so many brands so a lot more competiton. Aalso the design is perhaps not as distinct as some of the brands other pieces. However its still a very harmoniuos watch with great proportions in the case and a very well executed PC movement.

Is there a special significance to the numerals 3 and 9 being smaller than the rest? I mean the watch would have space for fully sized ones…

I like it too. If you look at the previous design it is perhaps a bit clearer why it was nessesary. The oval shape was moved over in the gillouche but perhaps it is not as convincing. Hmm, the more a look at it, the more I think I might prefer the old design.

I Think most PCs are just impossible to read. This one is great and with a very harmonious design.
