Thanks Emmanuel for a great comparison!

Indeed, both beautiful watches. Last year, I thought I would love the 6196, which I did on paper, but it didn't sing to me on the wrist for some reason. And I've tried it on several times. The me 5227 looks amazing in pictures, perhaps a sort of younger l

Personally I would have liked

less salmon dial again as too many being produced. I thought both the 5227 and 5396 are due a new movement with longer power reserve and more interesting dials. I’m not a fan of these hands like the 6119 either. What would have impressed me would have bee

First of all a warm welcome here. A great 1st post, as we like them.

Then, congrats on your first Patek, too. I am not sure the 5134 is under appreciated, though. It has its charm and interest, it cannot compete with the 5110 which is a totally different watch. It has a friendly complication, a nice manual winding movement

Thank you for sharing your detailed thoughts, dear Patekova.

I'm not really a fan of the Nautilus line, and probably for that reason—since I prefer dress watches to sports watches—it's the 5810G that appeals to me the most. So I'm delighted to read your very positive impressions of this model. I haven't seen any of

Huge congratulations!

And a great thank you for this detailed and thoughtful review. I’m glad your watch arrived so quickly and what an outstanding first post here and first Patek in your collection! As you know, I share your appreciation of the 5134 and strongly relate to man

My first Patek: the underrated 5134G Travel Time.

I had been searching for a travel watch for a while, and a Patek wasn’t in my consideration set. I looked into a PF Tonda GMT, but was concerned the design would be too bland after a while. I also considered a VC Dual Time, but the proportions were just t

Part 2 - This time it’s all about the watches. A few weeks ago having only seen images of the three 50th anniversary Nautilus watches I initiated a thread

that included my initial impressions of the watches. I also expressed my surprise that the watches were part of the Watches and Wonders novelties and wondered why they did not have an exclusive release at a different time of the year, eg the Fall. Having

The stuff dreams are made of

To me, the 5960, in all iterations and metals, but especially in platinum, is the definition of Patek Philippe in the first quarter of the 21st century. This is what horological history is made of. Design, complications, practicality, complexity. All of t

This brand is really well managed!

Vacheron Constantin as a brand floundered a bit in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. As they were owned by various investors and were pummeled by the lack of clear vision and the whole industry was decimated by the quartz crisis. However, in the past decade or so,

Patek Philippe Amagnetic Ref 3417 with a twist.

Double signature, Patek AND Beyer. In the category of great anti magnetic manual winding watches, this is one of the stars. Alas, it will stay in my dreams. Best, Nicolas
