36mm is an OK size for dress watch
I have one exactly llike yours. You mentioned that the case size in todays standard is on the small side, but I still find the 36mm diameter perfectly acceptable for a dress watch, many others brands like PP and VC are still producing current models in this size. Stretching it to 40mm gives it a modern feel but 36mm is dressier and goes well with a suit, for my 6.5" wrist, it is perfect.

The 1815 was still present in the 2006/2007 catalogue.
