I don't know why but I have just done my first visit to Lisbon a few days ago. I traveled a lot to Spain, going to Madrid and Barcelona every year but, maybe because I don't speak Portuguese while I'm fluent in Spanish, I didn't find in the past a good reason to discover the capital of Portugal. This obvious mistake is now rectified!
One of my wishes during my stay in Lisbon was to visit the Lange boutique. Because this boutique has a very special reputation: it is not the biggest one but it is considered as one of the nicest!
Actually, I was curious to discover the reason behind this reputation and now I'm able to tell you why: it is located and perfectly integrated in a beautiful building of the Avenida de Liberdade decorated by a full set of grey tiles. It is of course a coincidence because Lange didn't replace the tiles... but the selection of this building was very clever. The grey color of the tiles, darker than the Lange grey, perfectly matches the atmosphere of the brand and of the boutique. Well done!
But the reputation of the boutique, which opened the same year than the Paris one, in 2013, is also based on the very efficient lay-out which takes advantage of each and every square centimeter! The boutique is actually small but everything was designed to make the space as clear as possible and to welcome the visitors with comfort.
I will not forget to mention the efficiency and the kindness of Joaquim, the manager of the boutique, who perfectly knows the brand and who is able to offer some of the nicest pieces of the collection.
I propose you to discover the boutique with some pictures I took under the sun of Lisbon!
The beautiful grey tiles of the building. It is actually mainly occupied by a hotel. Do you notice the beauty of the frames of the entrance door and of the window?
When I'm in front of a Lange boutique, it is like being home!

The decoration and display of the main window:

The boutique lay-out takes fully advantage of each area of the surface. These transparent displays make the boutique larger than it is actually:

The classic displays are located at the back of the boutique:

I carefully listened to what F.A. Lange told me... about the future 2017 collection. Thanks Ferdinand-Adolph!

Joaquim had some little treasures in his boutique like this Grand Lange One Moonphase Lumen.
It is a watch I really like. Frankly speaking, I'm not a fan of the dial lay-out of the "classic" Grand Lange One Moonphase. I am convinced by the Lange One Moonphase is more balanced. But this lay-out works much better in the Lumen context.
It is actually very difficult to capture the dial colors... and to understand with pics the magic of this piece. When a Lange watch gets this very contemporary touch, it becomes even more attractive.

We turned off the lights to enjoy the luminescence of the watch... but the sunrays were still very present in the boutique. This type of picture works better in Paris than in Lisbon!

The 1815 Chronograph boutique edition is one of the my fav Lange watches of the last two years. Being an owner of the first version of the 1815 chronograph, I don't have a lot of difficulties to be seduced by it even if it is quite different. The blue figures & writing are charming and due to distinct dial proportions, the watch looks bigger than the first version while offering a very close case diameter. I also like the fact that the two subdials are larger.

The grey dial of the Datograph Perpetual makes me think that it is a color I would like to see more often in the collection. It gives more energy and it is very refined. I would be happy to see this type of color on more simple watches.

The Lange One Moonophase is not a novelty but I always appreciate its balance and the perfect integration of the moonphase display on the dial.

Joaquim, on the left, was very happy to welcome me and also the two journalists Elizabeth Doerr and Miguel Seabra... who was the local hero of the day!
Joaquim will wait for you at the 138, avenida de Liberdade during your next trips to Lisbon. It may be a small boutique but it deserves that you spend a timeslot inside during your stays in Portugal.
By the way, shall I need to mention that Lisbon is a must-visit city? I love its atmosphere and I regretted to not have done such stay before!
Thanks to Joaquim for the warm welcome at the boutique.
