Instead of a custom strap, how about a carefully spaced additional 1mm or 1.5mm hole punched to accommodate? That is what I do to tailor a pin-buckle's or deployant's positioning for my slim wrist. If you have a large wrist, then an XL strap will have to do, but again punch the hole. Punches for leather etc are not expensive to buy.

Sometimes i find switching the deployant / strap direction around helps.
Especially with very top-heavy timepieces. Try the deployant/strap in both directions, i find the 'opposite' direction to work best for my slim wrists. YMMV of course.

I found the same thing.
Reversing them often allows the clasp to rest on the fly-ish underside and watch to rest perfectly on the flat-ish top side
I like deployants, they prevent dropping watches!
I put on my pin buckle watches over the bed. I accidentally dropped my Frodsham on a soft comforter, no harm done!

I use a deployant on my PT Double Split and think it is perfect to balance the weight. Should be somewhat similar to your PT Dato U/D. Best Andreas
