I see you're not a fan of the old 1815 Automatik. I understand your sentiment. For me, whenever I've seen that particular 1815 variation n person -- especially the platinum/silver dial version, with the stunning Sax-0-Mat movement in a relatively thin case -- all reason goes out the window.

Yep: Lange’s best automatic caliber - truly gorgeous and technically accomplished. Just not in the hand-wound 1815 which recalls Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s values and the brand’s pocket-watch heritage. But, in turn, I understand your sentiment!
