I have mixed feelings on the Double Split. I love the concept and the movement, I want to love the watch, and thought about getting one more than once. The power reserve indicator is the detail which bugs me. I would have preferred a big date, instead. A ...  

because it’s a nice complication and it is well done. And it could not have been featured on the back. Beautiful watch.

You capture the soul of the watch very well! The no date does, in my view, keeps the dial cleaner. But I think a date would be more useful than a PR in this timepiece mind you. Oh and gorgeous strap!

I would argue that the PR takes up less real estate on the dial, whilst blending better within the canopy. But yes, why not just omit for a much cleaner face.

As for the thickness close to one meter, that is a good one, mon ami. ))

plus, as others pointed out, I understand the watch is quite thick, even when compared to the original Dato which was not exactly svelte to begin with. But I do think it represents an amazing value proposition on the secondary market, especially when comp... 

I too have flirted with buying the Double Split for many years - and have held and worn it several times - but never pulled the trigger. Reflecting upon this, I have concluded that - for me at least - the watch is a bold masterpiece of movement-making but... 

I see your point...I think the power reserve looks fine and distinguishes it more from the 'regular' datograph. And for a double split, the power reserve may be more useful to make sure you have the stored energy required to time your 2 events simultaneou... 

If you do not like double split, get triple split

the power reserve after a while looks balanced on the dial, even more so in the metal when you appreciate the effects of the recessed dial. Just spend an hour with it sometimes and enlightenment will come! Andreas
