I struggle with that model a bit too.
I never feel like wearing the HG 1815 Moonphase. It's not bad looking. It's just that the original Emil Lange 1815 Moonphases in RG and PT are much more appealing to me.
And I know what you mean about the warmth and richness of gold. Yellow gold seems to be making a comeback at least in the world of Rolex and Tudor this year!

You must have more muscles than me! For me, it was definitely a watch that I always knew was there. I had the white gold striking time version, I wore it for two hours in the house, and decided it wasn't for me.
