Lange, the brand we all can't help to stop liking, has done it again. Unfortunately, the iteration with the salmon dial and white gold case will be limited to 100 pieces. They simply can't make that many of them - a single watchmaker can only complete sin...  

Probably costs as much as a "sample" from a typical famous stud race horse too!

It doesn't bother me. But thank you and your razor sharp eyes for pointing that out.

The cut off the numerals is a clean job🌞 ...

The design team definitely made several mock ups of the dial and with different cut off styles. And then evaluated which one looked best in their eyes. They also have prescribed internal policies on the cutoffs too - not all of these rules are set in ston... 

Does make you wonder why this is so difficult. It’s not the first watch with four registers/subdials on horizontal and vertical axis. Interesting.

I'm confident that the design team considered enough variants and they know what we're doing. In a court of law, they're probably considered "watch design expert witnesses." And in a court of law, we might not be considered "expert witnesses." We may have... 

...and unless you're an NFL lineman, it will be difficult to pull this off on a normal wrist...

I ordered the Chopard with the salmon dial and I'm still wondering what color clothes I'm going to wear with it. I've got so many blue dialed watches but at least those I don't worry about from a styling perspective.

I wanna see that model in person sometime and do a side-by-side with the OG version.

Lange watches are often thicker due to their German architecture. The 3/4 plate alone adds almost a mm in height on the movement. But the design adds a lot of rigidity which translates to accuracy.

Expensive fish is definitely well appreciated in some cultures! And I definitely enjoy eating fish! Salmon is healthy and usually tasty! But yes, you're right. The word salmon has been avoided by Lange for a very long time! I once met a young kid of a wat... 

But the price point seems to be really high. USD 319,000!!!

That's what any other high end brand would charge for this kind of a watch. Maybe even slightly more than that actually. When you're paying $200K for a perpetual calendar chronograph with a non rattrapante, this is what I'd expect to be charged for a ratt... 

Is the spring photoshopped out of the first image? $320 is steep but seems to be consistent with maximizing market pricing.

I'm not sure if the spring is photoshopped out of the first image of the movement. It's definitely visible in the second movement photo. Next time I see Timo at Lange, I'll have to ask him if my guess about the spring was correct. The $320K is consistent ...
