Goes beyond the level of intelligent complications achievement:
I can FEEL more "quality" in a 1815 (newer model) than in a Duometre.
I know this is ultra-provocative, because the Duomètre, of course, is a far more interesting and innovative watch, but the finishing and attention to detail is objectively lower.
Even the applied numerals, the strap and the buckle (to name some examples) of a JLC MR, for all the magnificence of the movement and the watch, feel inferior to the same elements on an entry-level Lange.
Is this a shocking statement?
The movement finishing of an entry-level Lange is IMO superior to the movement finishing of the most complicated JLC. This kind of quality is what i pursue.
Perfection and attention to detail, even on simple watches, are very important, they are a starting base on which to build higher complications.
This is how i see things, humbly...
