It puzzles me why Cellini couldn’t sell the 40 pieces. After all 40 isn’t a huge number. It makes me wonder if these remaining (or should I say forgotten?) pieces were the result of Lange cutting Cellini as their AD? This narrative makes it particularly interesting to me and was one of the reasons why I bought it.

I got lucky once also. Not a watch but a NOS Patek dial from the 50's. Congratulations on such a marvelous piece! Is this a grand feu enamel dial? Something about the sheen in the pictures.

I believe the difference in that version is the dial finish (enamel?) and the red 40. Cute furry friend too. It’s cousin and other kitty say hi. As they say, “the cat is out of the bag!” 😂 ...

Pleased to report we didn’t find any mentioning of Cellini on the paper work and caseback. The paper work states “232.039 1815 UP/DOWN” as the model reference, and on the case back “LIMITED 40 PCS” has been inscribed. Best Gatsby ...
