A. Lange & Söhne

Part 1: the booth

The booth had a different lay-out than the 2009 one. Last year a big part of the layout was  dedicated to an exhibition with a beautiful exploded view of a  3D caliber. But the watchmaker was  a bit lost in the corner of the room.

This year, directly in the entrance of the  booth, an engraver and Jan Silva couldn't be missed !

Their presence of course was  linked to the novelties of the year.

One of the features of the collection "Homage to  F.A. Lange" is the specific decoration of the calibers inspired by the old pocket watches.  We will come back later on this topic.

The other reason of the presence of Jan Silva  was the presentation of the Grande Complication Pocket Watch, the n° 42500, sold by Lange in  1902 and which was restaurated during several years by the watchmakers of the manufacture.  The complications are: Grande and Petite Sonnerie, Minute Repeater, Ratrapante Chronograph  with minute counter and seconde foudroyante, Full QP and Moonphase display. The value of  this watch is estimated at over 1.000.000 euros.

Let's have a look at the pics  now!
