Of the two variants, I prefer the Datomatic to the Chronograph. That said, I'm not in love with the Odysseus aesthetic. It's nice enough -- not objectionable -- but also not compelling.
A friend said something funny to me when the Odysseus first came out. I had said to him, "Well, I guess Lange needed to check the box for its customers who also want to own a steel sports watch." His reply was, "But every Lange customer already owns a steel sports watch. It's called a 'Rolex.'" [My friend manages a Rolex boutique.]

I agree with you Larry. I have never been a fan of this watch design, and it has yet to grow on me. Firstly it just felt like Lange felt pressure to get something into the steel sports watch category and this is it. Secondly, I don’t like the day/date lay...
I see your point even if it seems a bit severe to me.

And I like that it can be worn with a strap (rubber or leather). But the bracelet is very fine indeed. Best, Emmanuel

Yes, this first photo is quite stunning. But my personal favorite versions are the white gold (for the guilloché dial) and titanium (for the very nice shade of grey). Best, Emmanuel

If I ever get a chance to try on an Odysseus, I will of course, but it seems a bit uncertain as they've made these watches fairly inaccessible. And I regret it because I think ALS has done a good job at making a really personal 'sports' watch. Best, Emman...

Let's see, because it's not easy to get, and not cheap either... I'm more and more inclined for everyday watches that are easy to wear and match my lifestyle, and this one ticks a lot of voices in that field.
