In a way, it's odd even to be asking the question I pose, given that each of us, for love of the artistry, has already sunk significant money into "old technology" mechanical watches rather than much more efficient (and accurate) "new technology" watches. After all, the tentative list price of the "Lange 31" is about 1 percent below the Porsche Turbo (german list price, incl. 19% VAT)... Such certainly invites for questions But then, to me "what it is" and "why it exists" is different from "how much it is"...
