I don't feel like they play games, not more at least, and in many cases less than other brands. My 1st Lange was a L1 Moonphase. When I purchased it, that's when they informed me that the L1 MP was a companion piece to the Odysseus. I didn't even know that but I loved the WG Odysseus and so I said yes, to get me an allocation. I was pretty much guaranteed and allocation right there and then, they confirmed within a week, and all I had to do was wait. They said 18-24 months, I ended up getting it in 15. I think that's a fair process. No waitlists, just an allocation and guarantee you get one provided you get a companion piece, which my L1 MP was, unbeknownst to me.

Are you near a boutique? They should receive some occasionally so you can see and try it on.
I was at the boutique in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago...
...they had a few pieces to try on, but nothing in the Odysseus line...not even 'fakes.' It doesn't matter to Lange as they will sell to others even if I ordered one...frustrating...
That's too bad. I know the Odysseus is not one you can order as your first Lange.
But to try one on, if you are near SF, have them call you when they get one in so you can try.
A friend sold many rare Langes because he got tired of playing the games...
