and fortunate that I was given an opportunity! Perhaps they were tired of pretentious "gimme gimme" customers and thought me and my girl was a fresh changeup! I certainly hope so!
The associate informed me "that they cannot guarantee things at any given time" however they will always do their best to help the loyal clients. So here's hoping!
Im wondering very much about the 50 year anniversary and what AP has in store for us! I have certainly considered asking about it but I dont know what to say as I dont know what time pieces are coming and which I would want - perhaps taking whatever is given is the best course? I will definitely mentioned it on my new years email to the associate!

It's definitely not easy to get allocation nowadays - however seeing how you described your journey, I can see why they think you are a genuine customer and would allocate you the piece. There is absolutely no downside to keep your relationship with them ...

Looks like you may have been lucky on that one. The last time I was in the AP boutique they had pretty much nothing, the only watches on display from their popular range were client watches on loan!
