What an incredible first post!
And lucky you - getting a green offshore as a first piece, in this crazy environment, is something which shows your genuine interest to the AP managers! Make sure to keep in touch with your AP representative - as MichaelC said and I can attest, showing a bonafide long term interest as a collector and not an investor seems to go a long way. And, I do believe stock is out there for the right collectors - unfortunately sometimes there is too much hype (and I’m certain AP is well aware of the situation) and it is hard to satisfy every wish and need.
But wishes come true if you are patient! Hope you ask for some interest in 2022 pieces…those may fit your interests very well

It's definitely not easy to get allocation nowadays - however seeing how you described your journey, I can see why they think you are a genuine customer and would allocate you the piece. There is absolutely no downside to keep your relationship with them ...

I was very, very lucky! Its just an unusual prospect to me to maintaining a relationship with a seller - it might sound strange but I have never been in this position before so I dont know whats too much or what to do.

Looks like you may have been lucky on that one. The last time I was in the AP boutique they had pretty much nothing, the only watches on display from their popular range were client watches on loan!

Current models, new models, etc. The manager would answer the phone here and there, and I came to know her as well. Anyways, you don't need to force it, but keep in touch with your contacts there and that always helps. Merry Christmas to you as well!
