My first AP...
...was an 18K dress watch on a gator strap. Automatic caliber 2120. I believe at the time it was from what AP called its "Classic" line. I bought it in the late 1980s after selling a Patek and a couple Vacherons.
Unfortunately, that watch is long gone, replaced with another VC...now also long gone.
That's when AP became my favorite brand...after it was gone.
Seller's remorse has kept me from ever selling another watch. Now, if I buy a watch, I keep it.
The only AP I currently own is a stainless Millenary from 2000. It's my favorite watch at the moment. But someday I'd like to find another like that first one.
