Another beauty from Italdesign. Very questionable and debatable that today's electric cars are any greener than modern ICE vehicles. Unless Caterham has some serious tricks up their
sleeves that weight prediction seems very optimistic and unlikely. My MX-5 can be "recharged" from 1% to 100% in half the time providing another 300 miles of travel. Top speed is the same. 0-60 does take 1 more second in
the MX-5 but it's price is 50% less. Also, acceleration is not the sole metric of driver enjoyment. My right arm and left foot (that operate the world class 6 speed in my MX-5) can attest to that. Even with it's stock
exhaust my Miata sounds good. I'm fine with options and choice but mandating a conversion vs letting the consumers vote with their wallets is not the best way to achieve any goals or save a dime related to dollars per mile.
As electric everything becomes more prominent the price of electricity (and frequency of brown outs) will go UP. Even Elon Musk has said that we need various types of power plants for cars.
