My Caterham's range was about 100 miles when "driving in anger"
Saw it at the Historic races in 1998:

Saw an advert 9 months later - went and brought it home!

Only drove it once with the hood and doors on, just to say I could. And it was raining too.
Yes, I was nuts. I think we had 4 Citroen 2CVs and 3 Lotuses plus some civilian cars at this point!
The Caterham turned out to be a pain in the arse because it was the only car I've owned that was nearly impossible to get past the smog test. I had to drop it off and come back in a couple days to get it and the certificate, paying whatever it cost and asking no questions.
I sold it after a truly manic, show-off test drive with the prospective buyer. The next day was in hospital having heart surgery. Were the two related? I don't know. Probably.
