My new car was broken-in over the weekend... but it doesn't sound as bad as the title says Before we get to that, let's go back a few weeks when I stopped by a nearby Chevy dealer. They had plenty of new C6 Corvette's on the lot in various configurations ...

Hi Pat, The F car was in great shape and was recently serviced (see unotaz's details about his 599). Luckily it was only a burst line and not the entire F1 transmission pump. What type of sports cars are popular in your area? Regards, ED-209

Thanks Sten. Hope you can join us on one of these cruises soon. I looked into those clear masks but really don't like the way they look even though it's thin I can still see the seam lines across the front. I know that I'll eventually get little rock chip... 

It's just a car, so just drive it and enjoy it. I'm kind of "anal" about it, so I had the while front hood and fenders and bumper all wrapped up. Not getting a dark colored car also helps. Enjoy!

The WanderingPurist enjoyed the drive very much as well, which included a brief pucker moment when the motorcycle behind the other CL and Vette turned out to be...CHP! Looking forward to future drives, perhaps with more local PuristS and their interesting...

In 1985 I purchased a new RED corvette. After three hours of ownership I was pulled over for failing to come to a complete stop on a private drive entering a public street. Got a warning for that offense. Two days later someone broke the drivers window an...

The B car is quirky, has a transmission slip and dealer cannot figure out. I have taken the car in about 6 times to fix it in the first year (that is as many times a my last one was in the shop in almost 5 years). The dealer wants me to wait for the trans...

Ooops, my fav car?! That's not easy to answer. I guess I would be very happy with a 991 :) I test drove it some months ago and it was an unforgettable experience. Trust me, it's flawless. There are many cars I love, but the Porsche would be the definitive...

It just happens to be incredibly bad.... However, it is such a great car that its' thirst for petroleum doesn't bother me. It probably wouldn't hurt if I eased up on the gas pedal once in a while. I just love the feel of the acceleration and the sound of ... 

Hi Mark, The WaderPurist tells me his E63 (basically same engine as yours) gets 11-12 city, 16-18 highway, closer to city mpg combined. His CL65 with the monster V12 actually got close to 19mpg amazingly, on a highway stretch during a recent run to SFO. B... 

Unfortunately I didn't make a note of what the exact figure was, but on a recent early morning drive with a few friends the milage was significantly better. That figure Ed showed the picture of reflects the fact that most of the time the car is running ar...

approx. 13 gallons or so for every approx. 62 miles. approx. less than 5 miles per gallon. Impressive. Is that instantaneous reading achieved while cruising on flat roads or while accelerating on a flat road?

I've heard a few complaints about not enough breaking power for the horse power.

But I haven't really put it to the test.

and also found the brakes on the CL65 adequate. Mind you, with 600+++ HP and 700+++ ft-lbs of torque, the CL65 can be STUPID fast...it is all too easy to find yourself doing 120, even 150, when your mind and instincts tell you you are only going 80 if you...  

The Corvette is such a great car , a shame it is such an "exotic" here in Europe. I would like to see more of them. Cheers and congratulations on your stunning new car Luc
