My doctor had that 355hp E55 !
He bought it secondhand for peanuts, officially that car was ordered for our Belgian King Albert 2, but by the time the car arrived at the palace Mercedes just announced the newer 476 hp E55 
... so they send it back.
One day we took it on the highway to over 300 kph , the car was supposed to be limited at 250 ...
Another day(night) he decided to follow the exact same car that overtook him on that same highway .. at 250+ the other AMG suddenly began flashing blue lights ... they both came to a halt and those other guys appeared to be some kind of secret police, after some explaining they let him go .. yes we call him the crazy doctor, our own Nicolas met him one day and he knows what i'm talking about .
Which one of these 4 cars would you prefer ?

modern cars are too fat and bloated with safety features and electronics...I appreciate the need but for storming around, nothing beats a light manual, hence the driveability of Lotuses.

A small Elise preferably with the 220 hp engine .... the Alpine will be the same weight but more powerful ... but doubleclutch !

Good choice ! Sadly the Alpine will be double clutch .... i have a feeling i will have to pas for the Alpine unless some money comes falling out of the sky. Is that a bad thing ? Probably not, next year Renault will be presenting the new Megane RS sportin...

I might be bias as I have an E46 M3 and have driven the 1M before, both on normal roads and on tracks However, I just love the balance and the dynamic characteristics of the BMW's ///M cars

Yes, when you drive the 1M you just feel it's much more balanced than the little Clio .... but still i'd go for the Clio.

Yes, you can get a few hp out of the engine but especially more torque and drivability .... but i don't want to start something as the possibilities are endless concerning engine and chassis tuning ... my wallet isn't endless :-( . Check out K-tec racing ...
For roads here in Manila id go for the 120d.
Its fuel efficient and just the right kind of power for the traffic here. I know the 1m will be very enjoyable. Speed and power wise. But i am just being practical. But all your cars are a joy to drive Bim. Cheers. Warm regards. Geross.

Why ? You have some kind of connection ???? About the 4C or the Alpine ... still don't know. If i was in the market i'd definitely try them both as well as the Cayman and the Lotus Elise with 220 hp.

To answer your question about the non-turbo solution ? Find yourself a first generation 130i straight six with 265 hp ... have it tuned up to around 285 hp and have a limited slip diff installed .... that's also a possibility i am considering in 3 years.
