Today i had the pleasure of giving the 1M a good blast ! Well, i wouldn't call it a real blast as this is the only one out of these 4 cars that's not mine. The 6 in line 3 liter turbocharged engine is a jewel, 340 hp and a lot of torque give it wings, bea...

My wet dream There was a 1,6 for sale here in Belgium, it had some serious work done to the engine putting it at 1,9 power level and as Nicolas states being more alive, this one was probably the one to buy :-( .... . But then ... my 1,4 XS is more alive t... 

Did you know there are quite a lot of variants in the 205 XS ? The one to have is the 85 hp with the TU3S carburettor, do you still remember which one you had ???? bim

modern cars are too fat and bloated with safety features and electronics...I appreciate the need but for storming around, nothing beats a light manual, hence the driveability of Lotuses.

A small Elise preferably with the 220 hp engine .... the Alpine will be the same weight but more powerful ... but doubleclutch !

Good choice ! Sadly the Alpine will be double clutch .... i have a feeling i will have to pas for the Alpine unless some money comes falling out of the sky. Is that a bad thing ? Probably not, next year Renault will be presenting the new Megane RS sportin...

I might be bias as I have an E46 M3 and have driven the 1M before, both on normal roads and on tracks However, I just love the balance and the dynamic characteristics of the BMW's ///M cars

Yes, when you drive the 1M you just feel it's much more balanced than the little Clio .... but still i'd go for the Clio.

Yes, you can get a few hp out of the engine but especially more torque and drivability .... but i don't want to start something as the possibilities are endless concerning engine and chassis tuning ... my wallet isn't endless :-( . Check out K-tec racing ...

Its fuel efficient and just the right kind of power for the traffic here. I know the 1m will be very enjoyable. Speed and power wise. But i am just being practical. But all your cars are a joy to drive Bim. Cheers. Warm regards. Geross.

Why ? You have some kind of connection ???? About the 4C or the Alpine ... still don't know. If i was in the market i'd definitely try them both as well as the Cayman and the Lotus Elise with 220 hp.

And I agree with your other remarks, but you know, the looks of the 4c are just killing me Dirk ...

six cylinders to four cylinders and eight to six. Also I love AWD but if the options are FWD and RWD, I take the latter. In other words BMW M1. I had 135i Cabriolet with just 305 hp. This little car was fun to drive even I did not like the turbo. In my 91... 

To answer your question about the non-turbo solution ? Find yourself a first generation 130i straight six with 265 hp ... have it tuned up to around 285 hp and have a limited slip diff installed .... that's also a possibility i am considering in 3 years.

For my daily driving style and the traffic, I'm starting to think the 120d would be the best choice for me! And considering I prefer RWD and I'm a fan of BMWs, the 120d is a great choice. The BMW 1M is another good consideration, but with the hills in San... 

Well we have a clear winner i guess . The 120d is great but you could also opt for the 125d ... which has 2 turbos (small and big as the 120 has only a big one) so less lag and more revs ... and 224 hp / 450 Nm. Is the 1 series available in the US? Diesel... 

The 1 series is completely not available in the USA anymore. But we now have the 2 series. Diesels are not available in the USA currently. I've been looking at SUVs mainly for the next car. Thinking MacanS or CayenneS or Mercedes SUV. But we shall see, no... 

My friends E55 is one of the fastest cars i have ever driven ... Well, in a straight line offcourse. 240i or M2 are just as fast i suppose, and fun to drive.

I remember seeing photos of your friend's E55 on the racetrack. The E55 is definitely very fast but has a hard time putting the power down as the tires probably can't handle the power. It's only got 265/35/18 tires in the rear! I would expect something wi...

Special version that could go faster. Mine supposedly goes to 300 kph or 303 kph. But here in America, it pretty much can never go above 150kph as our speed limits are only around 100-110 kph in California. I really like that 355hp version. That is a grea...

The M1 looks like a 3 Coupé washed too hot. IMO, this is a really unattractive design. A compact car should not pretend to be a "grown-up". The Clio, ont he other hand, is just a power egg, and designed like a power-egg. I love this kind of car. Small, ag... 

A true Purist chooses a true purist car The one thing that sometimes annoyed me about the Clio is the overall height and the high seating position. But then, this car does not pretend it is a sportscar ... which it in fact is . The 1M is indeed a bit over... 

The 1M is not a fair comparison with these cars. The 1M should be in comparison with CaymanR vs Focus RS and if you wish vs Subaru WRX Sti. The 1M will kill them all. Monstrous Excitement and Fun with 4 seat when you need it.
