Not just Lamborghini !

A quick remark from Ze Bimb.

There is probably some truth in the words of Simon Kidston but i can assure you the same counts for Ferrari ( i once attended some kind of a reception with Ferrari owners at Francorchamps, IMO i think even modern Lambo owners aren't that blasé smile  ...) .

Then there is Pagani, they still have what Lambo and Ferrari lost ... but at what price ??? It prbably explains quantities, in the seventies there were probably as much Ferraris and Lambos as there are Paganis these days ... and these days Ferraris and Lambo have become more "common goods" ... .

Porsche ... "yet most of its managers and executives still convey a sense of real love for motorsports and a deep abiding passion for performance automobiles" ...
I can imagine this being true .. but in the end the shareholders want to see profits ... build one GT3 RS but then also build another 100 Cayennes, 100 Panameras ... the same counts for Renault in a way ... building mass produced cars and then do some crazy stuff back in Dieppe, home of the Alpine factory where the Renaultsports are being produced (which unfortunately now also have to bring in more profit) .
You could say Porsche started building mainstream cars to survive and Renault has always made 'sportscars' for 'advertising' ... in both companies it's the carnuts that make it possible smile ... .

I wouldn't worry too much about Lamborghini, the Aventador is one of the meanest modern machines at a very reasonable price when you compare it to a Pagani smile .
I only hope the succedor to the Gallardo will be as mean or meaner than the Aventador, but it could be going in the wrong direction ... more mainstream ... well, sort of ... .

PS. Now that Audi acquired Ducati we will probably see some crazy creations, but i also fear they will start building scooters etc ... smile .... .

Cheers,

Filip
