The Audi R8 V10 is similar but not the same.
True, the V10 engine on the Lamborghini and Audi are very similar. A lot of both cars were co-developed. The engine block itself is exactly the same. The Lamborghini has lighter valves, rods, etc. made of more exotic materials. It also spins faster and freer. The transmission on the R8 can be R-Tronic (dual clutch) or manual. The Lamborghini only had the dual clutch.
I have driven the Audi R8 V10 and the Lamborghini Huracan (which only came in V10). The R8 V10 felt heavy, steering was slow, steering was too light and uncommunicative, it felt like a big buff body builder doing sporty things. The Lamborghini feels like a ballet dancer in comparison. The steering is sharper, faster ratio, better tuned, still not very communicative though - especially on an AWD variant, but on a RWD variant not much improvement. The Lamborghini is also much more dynamic - the engine makes more emotional sounds, the revolutions drop and spike faster. The sound from the engine is also much more emotional. The Audi is a Fraulein singing The Ring. The Lamborghini is your favorite Soprano singing a modern Puccini aria. Personally - I like Puccini.

I am having the same thought over an over again: Should i sell most of my watches to acquire the car of my dreams? This will obviously make me a bit sad at first, but the thrill level with car should compensate quite well... Cars i have in mind at the mom...

I tried a Z4 M once but was extremely careful.
A few days after I tried a Z4 3.0 ... a bit less careful héhé ... that was already a joy to drive. This engine is a jewel, I also had a go back then in a 630i convertible which was also a very nice experience.

i remember, when this beast came out they offered it two ways...
one way being fully built. The other way being as a set for you to build it. i am not sure if this is still the case or of Ultima still exists. Is is actually correct that they use CORVETTE V8 engine?
My Caterham ….
It puts out around 230 bhp and weighs under 600 kgs. The gearbox is a Caterham 6 speed manual. Once you start this journey you start to delve into the world of upgrading as much as possible. On my car even the front grill is made from titanium.

Have been fitted with a selection of small engines, including motorbike engines and sequential gearboxes. Personally I think something like a Ford Sigma or Duratec is perfectly suited when coupled with the six speed Caterham gearbox.

Since the late 90s and the Rover K-series, all the "standard" engines provided plenty enough power. They can be modified/upgraded easily and are rather reliable. All this for a rather limited weight. Going for motorbike engines is for real racers only and...

A reasonable amount of weight well distributed is a positive thing when it comes to getting a Caterham off the line from a standing start. I’ve completed in Hill Climb and it’s definitely an advantage off the line.

It depends how much passionate you are, about watches and about cars. For me, I like cars, I like to live in a nice place, but the only materialistic real passion I have is watches. So for me, I wouldn't do it. But it depends how much you like cars...

This was a great outcome.
I assume that at this point the “value” of the watch just became hard to ignore. I have found myself in similar places, but perhaps with a group of watches versus just a single one. My use of funds is not a car but rather an apartment in Tokyo.
Just to be clear, I’ve haven’t executed that yet.
I go back and forth on this. It would be a big decision. But the apartment in Tokyo is my equivalent of the Ferrari for Sham.

Cars are fun in summer, on a nice day. Watches are with you everywhere. At dinner parties, at work, on a long drive. Get a cheaper fun car, enjoy a long loud drive, and keep the watches. Or occasionally rent a really nice car, and see if that itch is real...
