I remember driving past a household in London with two Bentleys, one with the license plate 2B and the other with NOT2B 😁 In many countries there is a standard price for custom plates, which would make the £350k a bit strange 😊
A couple of weeks ago this licence plate was sold in auction
for £350,000 and now it seems found its new home ! ...

2B and NOT2B! So Clever! Definitely not a British-only phenomenon.
It's actually a big deal in many Middle Eastern countries and in countries with a high Middle-Eastern Expat population.
Apologies, what does it mean so that it has such perceived value?

In Dubai the highest price paid for a number plate was around £17,000,000 although these most expensive plates are sold at auction with the proceeds going to charity. Marc

All plates in Jersey start with J then the number . They also trialled JSY which went to 3 digits then stopped
The smaller the number , the higher its value
people treat it as an investment if not for vanity , go figure !

"ZH 24 went" for 299000 CHF You don't even own it - you rent in from the Government for as long as you pay taxes and reside in the canton. You can't resell it but you can pass it on within your family. I'd rather take a regular plate for 60 CHF and a nice...
