This reminded me a while back in Austin,
A friend had his car parked along the road. It was about 1+ am when I saw 4 guys trying to remove the glass top. They bailed when I yelled at them, police came, looked at us, shrugged and said they would update😂. Of course they didn’t. One of the AHs definitely had a big butt, they broke the driver side window in the process and were probably close to yanking the top off when I saw them.
There would be tons of prints all over the glass but the police said they didn’t have the stuff to take prints or something like that😂.

Yesterday night I finally obtained footage of the local police department response to the motorcycle theft that happened to me over five months ago. I have yet to receive any update from the department on the outcome of their investigation.... 🙃 ...

I was hoping the police department would come up with some answers, but in almost half a year, they don't have anything tangible at all.... The silver lining is that my insurance (Progressive) paid out the loss fairly, and I have the exact same model paid...

Good question. I believe he had the fundamental attitude to merit an Augusta, deep inside. And having one would have made him more popular girls (which he sorely needed).
But his mustache and jumpy temperament would have made it difficult for him to ride properly an Augusta. He would’ve done better with a sports car and loud music. 🤭

I didn’t think motorcycles are targeted because there’s so many I see parked in open, which must be the usual. I guess thieves won’t chance tampering out in an open parking lot versus a closed area.🤔 Nothing is sacred.😔

I saw a subsequent article in the local newspaper how an organized crime gang stole a number of expensive SUVs in that same stretch of time - early October 2025. I am obviously certain those were the same people, they were just running around the neighbor...
The chances are, objectively, next to none....
But at least I've purchased the same model once again 😉👍

Most of these bikes and cars seem to end up in shipping containers and then in far away places, although I would have thought with the limited numbers of MV bikes produced this may of been harder to sell on and service later. Marc
Service for MVs is a pain in the rear end....
even for perfectly legitimate owners in major marketplaces like California. Just like you pointed out, it has ended up who-knows-where, likely with no licensed mechanics who specialize in handling them, so they'll just ride it 'till the wheels fall off ' ...

It’s a bit of a consolation that you got to get the same motorcycle thanks to the insurance but I must say the cops behavior is quite disappointing.

Response time was a joke to say the least, if something serious happens here we are screwed. It took at least 20 minutes, could have been 30 .... . Europe is totally not prepared for anything serious, I hope things will change for the better.
In L.A. city, unless someone's seriously injured or dead....
LAPD response times are the same.... Only particularly wealthy enclaves like Beverly Hills etc. can manage much better response times and therefore outcomes.... 🙃
