To answer your question about EV’s ….
I’ll start by saying that I have been a life long “Petrol Head” and I’m very fortunate to own a collection of petrol cars, stretching from the 1960’s to the current year and I enjoy nothing more than a blast in my E Type on an early sunny morning. I also own two EV’s, both Tesla’s.
I don’t see this as a contradiction or a debate over one is better that the other, it’s a simple decision of the appropriate vehicle for the day. I certainly wouldn’t take or enjoy driving the E Type or other petrol classic into a city or the daily grind. The world has moved on and congested roads and polluted towns and cities are a major cause of health problems and the issue of global warming. My Tesla’s are charged using Solar (self generated) or a green energy supply.
Other solutions will become viable alternatives including synthetic fuels and hydrogen and I look forward to embracing them.

Battery will hold 400 miles. So keep it in the drive, not the garage. We are almost always under the thumb of the government

I wrote a lengthy response to this question but decided not to post it. In short, not for me for practical and aesthetic reasons. As far as the “ESG benefits” of EV proliferation are concerned, we’re being sold a false bill of goods.

Fair enough. If it’s something that will meet your needs,
and something you want, get it. My problem is with those who want to make the decision for me.
