The cars you listed have all been amazing vehicles, some of the most amazing vehicles to come out of Germany. Germany is a country where driving is taken extremely seriously and high-speed driving is a common occurrence in Germany, such high speeds that can only be done confidently with a planted car. Such high speed driving is not common in the UK. But we've seen amazing Jaguars from the past, such as the XJ220. McLaren makes some of the world's fastest vehicles in the UK.
I can only hope it'll only be a matter of time before we see a Jaguar that will offer that feeling of plantedness and the amazing capabilities of speed and handling we're looking for! In the meanwhile, a BMW 328i is such a darn good car, that I'm having trouble thinking of how it's going to be beaten...

You have to keep in mind that a Jaguar, even R is a GT, not a sports car.

Is the reason why the engine and transmission are blowing up is probably because the car's components simply can't cope with the power? Keep in mind, the E46 M3 came with 333-343 horsepower in most countries. 700 would be double that.
