Not surprised of the love for watches generally and Rolex specifically at the dealer. Of there are one or two liking a brand they often convince / initiate the rest - a little bit like an analog WPS 😂
But car dealers with Rolex watches also reminded me of ‘Arrogance and Accords’ - the book on one of the largest corporate corruption scandals in the USA (with Honda of America). There was a quote in there somewhere that if you as a sales rep, ‘Don’t get at least one Rolex gifted a month (from dealers looking to acquire a franchise), you’re simply not trying’ 😁 Of course I am sure there’s none of that going on anymore but it’s a fun book to read 👍🏻

I always liked the B58 petrol engine in the X5. It's supposedly very reliable, and fairly responsive - especially when the transmission is smart enough to keep the engine above 1500 rpms.

That’s a very cool thing.
It hasn’t happened to me very often, but when it has, it’s so much fun. I personally love talking about watches and would be happy to do so every day for the rest of my life 😁

I can only imagine the immediate connections for watch collectors right there and the excitement, interesting conversations. It is nice to see like-minded people in the wild.
