Baselworld 2010: Svend Andersen
By Don Corson
Svend Andersen who together with Vincent Calabrese founded the AHCI 25 years ago keeps going strong.
This years new watch is the Quotidiana.
The Day disk turns slowly once a week inviting to enjoy the days as they pass. The date is shown at the edge of the dial on a second disk turning once a month. The day and date indexes are engraved on the sapphire.

The Secular Calendar which goes a step further than a standard perpetual calendar by including the calculation of the 3 "non-leap years" every 400 years.

The very customisable Montre à Tact, this one with a Japanese decor. Note that all of Andersen's miniatures are hand painted, they are not printed.

The Jour et Nuit

The Kamar big moon

The Regina Montre à tact set with 8.74 carats of diamonds

EDITOR'S NOTE
Apart from consulting for some brands and even producing the movements for the limited edition Linde Werdelin watches, Andersen's own products are a little risque and 'cheeky' or show that the Danish have a sense of humour.
However, the Secular Calendar seems to take humour to the extreme because the owner only has a 3 in 400 chance of ever knowing the thing 'works'. That is true luxury; the ability to buy something and not know it works!
Does it come with a warranty?
