Return from warranty service...
Today I got the good news that my watch returned from service at Blancpain HQ. I posted about it almost a year ago and after waffling, I sent it in in January. That's not a bad turnaround, including shipping time. Anyway, initial impressions are good. I had sent the watch in because the movement had dirt on it and so did the 9 o'clock marker. From my quick macro shots and my judgements today, it seems to be in good working order. The date feels worse to quickset—there's a bit too much play in the crown and the date setting—but time setting and hand stacking looks and feels good. The movement also feels a tad smoother to wind—but that might just be in my head. The Blancpain folks kindly filled out the service card, but didn't include any daily rate information, so I'll have my watchmaker stick it on a timegrapher and tell me the good or bad news. Here are some photos—any questions or comments are welcome.
