The new Bathyscaphe “Blue Abyss”
Earlier this week Blancpain silently launched the FF Bathyscaphe in a blue ceramic case with blue ceramic bezel inlay and blue dial in two versions.
The difference between the two is the lume color (and the corresponding contrast stitching on the sailcloth strap): one bright blue, one traditional off-white.
The catch is that this is the first modern Bathyscaphe with lumed numerals and indices on the bezel.

Blue ceramic doesn't do much for me but that lumed bezel sure does! Hope to see that feature spread through the line.

Beautiful! I had the chance to touch one of them yesterday at my local boutique. The blue case is impressive. If I didn’t already own four Bathyscaphes, I would seriously consider this one. ...

But you’ve got to be a serious lume enthusiast to go for this. Can’t tell in the pics, but the lume on the elements of the dial is rather bright. So if it’s similarly bright now from the bezel, that thing will be a torch at night… I’d wager it could light...
