As a Breguet lover, I am fortunate not to have to...

...send one of my pieces to Breguet service, except the winding box of the 5327 perpetual but I miss it until now only 2 weeks, I bought my pieces through an official AD with much effort from my part... I completely understand, as also many friends in this forum the urge to possess your dream watch even from e-Bay but that unfortunately leave you with an unknown history of that piece, that in this case seems that it had a very difficult infancy... Infancy of possible misuse and bad service...
That said, I completely agree with your previous post (and also the adventures of Jack' marine) and you are right in comparing a Breguet watch with a (sometimes very expensive) car... Good and timely service is paramount to the prestige and fame of a haute horlogerie watch...

Isn't that where the fix Seiko's and Citizen's? I guess Swatch too. Breguet is such a fine brand, but I just can't seem to put them into the same class as PP or VC, don't know why.

Yes, I was alarmed at the damage report too, so much so that I emailed the VP of Customer Service. I guess the previous owner did not have the watch overhauled every five to seven years, as is recommended. Part of me says, "yeah, those gaskets wear out;" ...
