Mr Emmanuel Breguet kindly allowed us to handle some watches from the 250th anniversary collection, and among them, the new Type 20 in gold, with a black and a silver dial. I will kill any suspense right now, the new Type 20 is much more my taste than tho...

An automatic versus a manual winding?

Yeah, I guess Breguet call it Calibre 533.3

But I meant do you prefer the automatic?

When it comes to chronographs, only manual wind for me :-)

Prefer the black one

Agreed on the hands, which also includes the black version... Thinner hands would be better. Yes, indeed, these are watches to be seen in person. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the review — likely the silver dialed version for me — but, agreed about the unnecessary plate engravings, simply a distraction.

I would rather dig into this plate to see more of the movement!

The big plate on the back for me a sort of visual “obstacle”.. The black one for me, pls !

What is the reason for the thickness?

The movement alone is 6 mm high. Add circa 2 mm more for the plexy, 1 good mm for the dial, around the same for the case back... And yes, maybe 11 mm would have been better.

Rolex uses an automatic in the Daytona and keeps it to about 12mm...

Not sure about the Daytona, but indeed, Breguet could have made it thinner.

Monochrome posted it at 11.9mm in a 2023...
