Opinions on choosing b/w sizes (pics)

I've been active on the forums recently trying to get information on the various sizes of Santos 100.  It's been really difficult since I couldn't find a store that has the exact size/color combinations I want.  However, I did get close and have some luck finding want I wanted this weekend when I was out of town on a trip.  Ultimately if I go w/ the Santos 100 I want two tone gold bezel on stainless steel w/ brown strap.  I found a large size gold/stainless in a store and also managed to find a stainless steel medium size.  I know ultimately its a matter of personal preference, but I'd love some opinions.

At first I though the large was far too large for my 6.5-6.75 inch wrist b/c all I had been able to try on was the all stainless.  However, because of the contrasting gold bezel, it makes the watch seem a bit smaller and it didn't look nearly as large to me when I finally got to try on the gold/steel Santos 100.  To compare, I also tried on a black case/gold bezel medium sized watch (b/c there were no mediums in the color I wanted)  and it seemed a bit small and feminine.  I'm not sure if it was because of the colors scheme or because I tried it on immediately after such a large watch.

I'd love any feedback.  As a side note, I'm looking for a really timeless piece that I can pass down to my children one day after years of enjoyment.  I'm also looking for something that will be versatile w/ suits as well as jeans and a tshirt.  I love the classic style of the Santos, but I just hesitate whether the large size may take away from the timeless look and whether large watches are just fashion that happen to be in at the moment.

Making a decision on such a large lifetime investment is so difficult!  It took me forever to narrow it down to the Santos 100, and now I'm having such a hard time deciding b/w sizes!  So many choices smile

Below is the large gold/stainless.  The bezel fits within the broader stainless case making it a bit smaller looking perhaps.

This one below is the medium stainless on black, however I'd want to get the gold/stainless w/ brown strap if i went midsize.  I'm thinking that perhaps it may look to small on my wrist particularly w/ the gold bezel b/c the bezel is so far within the bounds of my wrist.  Such a tough decision!

Thanks!
