This is a very serious offering and as for others, i did notice it!
Though if i was in the market for a sports steel watch with a tourbillon i might gravitate toward the VC oversea tourbillon instead.
How did this escape notice?

Chopard really did awesome this year. I love that Strike One...I just wish I have deeper pockets.
There’s an older edition of the strike one which I actually prefer
Unfortunately even at roughly half the cost of the new ones it’s a bit rich for my blood… I believe it came in rose gold or titanium and had a solid or skeletonized dial.
They really are quite impressive

Escaped the notice of the guys paid alot of money to advertise AP's RD#3 flying tourbillon...
And yes I'm being a little cynical, but the Chopard is double chronometer rated, with Poinçon de Genève quality finishing and water resistant to 100m. Not to mention the fact that it's 0.1mm thinner than the AP. But that's marketing for you.
As others have noted, it did not escape notice. ;)
And while have yet to see it in real life, in the videos available it looks better than in the pictures. The proportions also seem to work better than with the 'regular' Alpine Eagle.
This Chopard is very nice...
But... The problem for me is that a "better" watch in my eyes exists. The Vacheron Constantin equivalent is fairly and similarly priced, similar quality, and features a much larger tourbillon in terms of diameter. Furthermore, that VC tourbillon movement ...
Sign me up on that one!
I.e. Alpine Eagle with the LUC 1.96 movement. Preferably without date, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker if that's not possible (e.g. due to not being feasible to modify the movement).
They can always cover up that portion of the dial.
The movement would still have a date, but it just wouldn't be visible. That's what I would ask for. I'd ask for two dials, a normal dial, and a dial without date.
True. Though personally I'm not a fan of using a time and date movement but having a dial with no date aperture.
That leads to a redundant "ghost" position when using the crown, and that never seemed like an aesthetically (nor engineering-wise) pleasing solution. That said, having two dials would likely be the best option, if modifying the movement to remove the "da...
Indeed, you will still get that middle crown position for the date that will click when you wind it...
It's not a perfect solution. Unfortunately.
