Fleabay Alert - fake Cornes de Vache
This fake 6087 has been lingering on various selling platforms for at least two years and was the subject of past discussions. A new wrinkle has appeared with the latest seller, a jewelry store out of New York. Previously the watch displayed case serial number 373268 and movement 470034. VC confirmed the numbers are not correct. The seller is now representing the case number as 373258, and posting pictures sufficiently fuzzy to make it plausible. The movement number remains the same.
So here are the before and after pics copied from past seller phigora and current seller topjeweler-2009. You can see the watchmaker's scratch marks are the same...

Common sense would dictate that anyone considering the purchase of vintage grail watches would authenticate first, but these fakes do sell and then get passed on to new victims when the mistakes are realized. Its bad for the collecting community and bad for the brand. The good people at VC say there is even a fake 6087 out there with legit serial numbers!

how do your comments relate to the original post? Over the years this seller has declined to obtain an extract or certificate from VC, for obvious reasons, so I'm confused about the meaning your comments. Please enlighten me

My recommendation
for the true aficionado: Get seriously on highly alert with this watch or similar offers.
And just in case...
If you see a full authenticity report for this watch, than I would recommend to contact the expert personally and ask, if he conducted the examination by himself personally, ask for a guaranty.
