If there hadn’t been a Nautilus…
…this would actually be a watch with some potential for me.
BUT there was a Nautilus, and I wore and loved it for many years. With that one can never see the Cubitus without thinking it’s a “knockoff”. And yes, even though these are both watches made by PP this one is still a “knockoff”.
I don’t see it as an evolution of the Nautilus.
This is my first time taking the time to look at the watch. In large part because this is my first time seeing the smaller version.
Yes, it fits very well on the wrist. And in isolation (with a blank mind and no history to consider) it’s an attractive sports watch. Slim case, nicely executed bracelet which is comfortable on my wrist at least and very versatile across every day casual to the office.
Interestingly for me, my AD at the time offered my the Nautilus in this same combination of metal and dial colour (at least I think it was the same, but recollection was the dial was slightly warmer in colour). And it was, like this one, beautiful. I passed on it, as gold was not my thing really. Plus I already owned another Nautilus.
I’ll leave it there.
