Just out of curiousity, what is everyone's thoughts on IWC Schaffhausen? It seems that it is the one brand that not many people talk about in this forum.
Belonging to the Richemont group, one would assume that their movements, finishing, and technical aspects should be in the same category as JLC, Piaget, Panerai, etc.
I am intrigued by some of their portuguese watches.
My uncle had a highly complicated IWC a few years back and he said that it gave him so much problems that he had to send it for servicing 3x. With each service a new problem always arise. But this is like 10-15 years ago. So any comments on their watches now would be greatly appreciated.

I gave up around 2005. Until then I felt they had watches which spoke to me. Their history was great. A few years after the Richemont takeover I found the models were drifting away from the workmanlike qualities I valued, towards more fashion led designs....
