IWC

Just out of curiousity, what is everyone's thoughts on IWC Schaffhausen? It seems that it is the one brand that not many people talk about in this forum. Belonging to the Richemont group, one would assume that their movements, finishing, and technical asp...
IWC is a good brand...

IWC is a good brand, but perhaps not great in many respects. As a Lange Lover, I personally think that IWC has many German case designs (it comes from the German side of Switzerland) but does not have the same German approach to watchmaking. I would say t...
Is it a surprise, Daos?

We have the same taste, so is the hunt... Why am I on the 666 and the 812? Because I can't end my " amagnetic " thema without the 666, which was one of the stars of the category, along with the Geophysic, the Railmaster and the Rolex Milgauss. In this cat...

I gave up around 2005. Until then I felt they had watches which spoke to me. Their history was great. A few years after the Richemont takeover I found the models were drifting away from the workmanlike qualities I valued, towards more fashion led designs....
I am a fan

I like IWC, currently owning an ingenieur and a pilot's watch. The pilot's is indeed a modified ETA movement, so this would certainly be excluded from many forum member's lists. I have previously owned another ingenieur and another pilot's. I sold the fir...

And have had no problems with it. I will say that I bought it as a novelty of sorts. I thought the rubber was kind of cool for lack of a better phrase. It has an ETA movement and there really isn't much special about it aside from the rubber and ease of c...

Highly respectable house.

Hi GG, IWC and its then-CEO (and later, of LMH) Mr. Blumlein was the main character behind the re-birth of today's ALS which you love dearly. Very respectable house with long decorared history. There are always attractive models (although I admit that mos...
For me, IWC was a phase
By: nilomis : July 10th, 2011-18:01
I had my "IWC phase" (all that I had were stolen) and I don't own any and I don't have any space for an IWC on the future. I had two Aquatimers (3636 and 3638, all titanium), a couple of pilot watches and one Portuguese (the chrono version). No regrets wi...
