A Blue Surf.
I bought it from our esteemed AP moderator, MichaelC, and although I have occasionally considered selling it, I never really put much effort toward that goal.
I traveled with this watch to Switzerland and Italy... and met Philippe Dufour wearing this watch, so I guess that sealed the deal.
Traveling with a watch really bonds you to it.
But the truth is, the details of this watch are everywhere--it is kind of a demonstration of UN's high level skills in a little ( well, not so little - rather beefy 43mm) powerhouse steel diver package.
The blued hands are quite special.
It had superluminova before Rolex. (blue lume)
The bezel... I mean... come on. Wow. For a steel diver??!!
And the dial, so cool.
But what's actually grown on me is the treatment of the movement--the blue 'everything' of it.
I thought the movement was too small at first--and I thought it was sort of 'who cares' when I bought it, sort of a cool bonus, but yeah whatever on the movement...
But as the years have passed, I really am impressed with how seriously UN treated this movement--it is very, very unusual.
And the blue is really damn cool.
A 50 hr power reserve in 2006 on a modified ETA? Not bad, UN... Not bad...
This is my favorite daily wearer and I feel it can not be beat in its 'league.'
The bracelet, too, is quite special--chunky, really well made. And most of all, travel-comfy!
The crown... so killer!
I happened to snap some WATERY pics the other day that came out well enough to warrant some sharing.
I think I'm going on about 4 years with this guy, but maybe MichaelC can confirm...
