Patek's quality control has had some issues. The following is a video from a Hong Kong showing a brand new 5711/1R and a 5711/1A olive dial with scratches all over the hour markers especially in the latter. Start at around 3:25 and one would be shocked by the many scratches. If true, such issues might suggest that Mr. Stern's efforts to build a huge manufactory comes at the cost to high quality watchmaking.
What can we do to help Patek improve ? Your thoughts?

In the past I would have agreed but today I think brand equity isn't tied to product quality the same way
Look at AP, the stronger the hype the more corners are cut and cost savings are captured. The stronger the brand, the more the brand itself drives the ship than the actual products. That said, I have no opinion on VC vs PP 😉

My girlfriend listened to the audio and translated the audio to me. it seems that this person has only noticed QC issues with the 5711 line and not on any other Patek watches.
The guy also claims that these are 100% authentic PP watches. Stating that he's seen so many watches before and won't make a mistake identifying real/fake watches.

Slowing the video down and a little math leads me with some doubt about the authenticity of the Patek watch. I'm no expert though. Everybody and their dog has a YouTube channel now. Just because its on YouTube doesn't mean it is true.
I personally have never had a problem with Patek quality, or their lack of responsiveness in the customer service department. Maybe I'm just lucky.
