power reserve on hand winds....
Folks,
Most of my watches have been automatic and but I am considering a hand wound for the next piece. I am wondering how much do you use or miss a power reserve on a hand wound watches? Do you use a regular schedule to wind it? Or do you go in for a watch with a long power reserve (say 3 days or more)?
My general feeling is that it is a feature that I would love to see on every watch - not necessarily on the front - perhaps on the backside. After all we dont like driving cars without a fuel gage!
J.

Can you envisage a Sub with a PR indicator? What's the big issue? Stop worrying and just wind the thing This topic has been discussed many times before, but I am still of the belief that the best ever execution of a PR indicator was on the Futurematics......
thanks....

I was at the Panerai event in LA recently. And was taken by several of the hand wound watches with P3000 movements. And planning well ahead of the next buy, particularly because I just acquired a Rolex 214270 last month J.

That going for crazy prices man. The subject matter is about PR indicators, so I shall not stray. The 203 is angelus based 8days, and the 249 is ETA derived OP X which is 56 hours, both drastically different from the 372's P3000. And also all 3 on differe...

Which is why I just bought a 4 year old JLC MC 8 day hand wound in RG. And very glad I did! I love being able to see how much 'charge' there is in the watch at any given time. And winding once or twice a week is no chore - almost more of a pleasure. What ...
