I have a Senator Perpetual and the other day I had an opportunity to try out a flight simulator. I didn't think to remove my watch. The watch is only a few months old. My arms took a lot of feedback and afterwards I noticed the lunar wheel had advanced 12 to 14 days. Everything else seemed to work. When I tried to adjust the lunar wheel, I used the lower button, which set everyhthing ahead (it was not my day). So I reset everyhting. I made sure I was at 2:00PM. I set the date to 01. When I went to adjust the month, the button did nothing. I tried several times and there was no advancement of the month. I advanced the hands 24 hours and I was able to change the month. So here are my questions:
Being a mechanical watch, is the tolerancing on the lunar wheel such that excessive vibration will cause this slip or advancement or is this a sign of potential damage? Should I send the watch to be repaired or since it seems to work OK, wait and see what happens.
With the advancement of the month not working, is this an anomaly or are there certain dates or issues with the wheel alignments that would cause this? Again, is this acceptable?
