With great thanks to my local GO authorized dealer, my defective (previous post) Senator Perpetual Calendar in Rose Gold has been replaced with a brand new watch! It is functioning flawlessly though I will not attempt to judge the rate for several weeks. Incidently, someone asked about the leap year indicator being half one color and half the next in December and according to the instruction booklet, this is by design and perfectly normal. I would also suggest to other GO perpetual owners to carefully note that the date change begins rather early at 7pm and ends at 1am. In February, it is even earlier - 5pm through 1am. These are times when no adjustment should be made to the calendar mechanism.
The new Senator does have a leading zero in the date as opposed to the one returned which had the blank space. I knew this would be the case from reading the posts here so it was not too much of a surprise and I think this is OK...the overwhelming beauty of this timepiece simply dwarfs any concern over this issue.
Now, to the title of this post...I looked into the moon display this morning and because of the lovely gold, slightly convex moon, there I was, looking back at myself...a man in the moon! Is this just an expression in the US? I'm not sure.
Regards,
Michael
