Rolex GMT 1675 Blue Berry - Navy Blue
With all the talk of the mystery of the Blue insert I took the opportunity to photograph one out in the wild. It is very interesting how the texture of the paint is very interesting. Unlike the typical anodized inserts these really have an interesting feel. It is only a company like Rolex that could produce this type of precision. If you have a chance to compare you will see this clearly. the tightness between the numbers and edges of the bezel so clean.
Anyhow until we find out all the history enjoy the look of these great collector piece with the very nice all red hand. I previously mentioned the gilt 4 line 5512 was an item for the refined collector. This one is for the determined collector.

True blue
The pictures exaggerate the texture a little as to the naked it is less pronounced. However the color is very true. I have see various example from new old stock to modulated. This one has a lighter shade towards the inside and then darker on the ridges. ...
And.... The typical Long E MK 1 dial!

...this is one of the few MK1 i saw with the full red GMT hand. i usually find it on MK2 dials. i think the contrast with the blue bezel is very charming. congrats. chris

Those guys at Rolex know how to keep the rare things. I would imagine the Blue insert is the rarest to find after the Bakelites. Could be the same reason fragile materials Bakelite and fragile paint for the blue insert. The red hand also has all kinds on ...
