Rolex

There are two watches I wore the most during this summer, the Reverso Septantième which didn't receive much wrist time all along the year, and the Rolex 6542, which had an opposite treatment. 

The Reverso Septantième summer pictures are already posted. I wanted to close my summer pictures series in beauty, with the 6542, which was everywhere with me in Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. 

This is the interesting thing with our horological companions. They give rhythm to our everyday life, and they embellish the nice moments, making the bad moments a bit less painful. Which is certainly why we use to say that our watches are much more than watches. 

This summer was no exception. Ok, I couldn't swim in the lake or sea with the 6542 on my wrist, I am not that crazy to do such a stupid thing, but those moments apart, it was most of the time on my wrist, and you will see that " together ", we lived some beautiful moments. 

All started in Torino, the day of my arrival in Italy. Torino is a city I discovered, too quickly, to tell the truth, but enough to like what I saw. 

Then, we arrived in Trieste. I will not post another picture of the 6542 in this city, as I already did it a few weeks ago. 

But, of course, I brought it with me when I went in Croatia, to meet our crazy friends during our crazy gathering, there.

Then, a superb moment was when we discovered Tuscany. 

The countryside at Lastra A Signa is hard to beat in terms of beauty, and the 6542 was in its element. Better, it enhanced the beauty of the moment and of the place. 

In Firenze, taking a wrist shot of the 6542 equals to take a postcard picture. Wherever you go, Beauty is everywhere, even on your wrist.

Here, in front of the Panerai Boutique which was an AD for many Swiss Brands, Rolex included, years before being part of the Ruchemont Group, of course. 

What about this picture, taken on and from the Ponte Vecchio? 

Another place, another beauty. 

On our way back to Paris, we had a stop at Orta and its lake. I already mentioned that place in Time out, so I won't elaborate more, here, but what a charming place!

The last stop we had was at the Mont Blanc, because of the traffic jam. Which gave me the opportunity to take this shot.

I quite like the idea that the 6542 is a watch which can be used in different ( but dry ) environments, such as lakes, sea, countryside or... The mountain. 

One thing I couldn't do is to take a picture of it in the cockpit of a plane... Which would be another historical shot, but maybe one day? 

When you look at these pictures, there is something which jumps into the eyes of the reader... The incredible dial whose beauty is fully revealed by the intense sun I was lucky to have. 

These shades of brown, sometimes dark, sometimes lighter, are just captivating. 

This is one of the most important reason which convinced me to get THIS watch, I must say. 

This is certainly why this 6542 is one of the most important piece from my collection, too. 

And the fact that I live so many plesant moments with it reinforces the love I feel for it.
